Kevin Coutinho, who works as an equality, diversity and inclusion consultant for the Centre for Equity and Inclusion at London Metropolitan University, has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Kevin, who provides strategic advice on inclusion at London Met, was named in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List for his decades-long commitment to promoting equity in education and public life.

"Kevin’s national leadership on equality and inclusion makes him a perfect fit for London Met, and we’re all so proud of this recognition," said Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, Professor Nona McDuff OBE. "His MBE is a well-deserved recognition of his tireless efforts to create a fairer, more inclusive society."

Chloe Milano, London Met’s Executive Director of People, joined Nona in praising Kevin for the impact he’s had: "It is a privilege to work with Kevin in furthering our ambitious equality agenda at London Met. His broad and recognised experience in the sector has supported us in progressing our People Strategy and a more cross-institutional approach to EDI."
