A new wave of entrepreneurial talent is emerging from London Met this summer through our 8-week Summer Startup programme.
Date: 7 July 2025
A new wave of entrepreneurial talent is emerging from London Metropolitan University this summer, with over 15 students and recent graduates taking part in the our 8-week Summer Startup programme.
Launched by our Enterprise team, the programme supports our students and recent graduates to develop their early-stage business ideas and turn them into launch-ready business ventures. Through eight interactive, practical weekly sessions, participants receive all the tools, support, and confidence they need to turn their ideas into a reality.
With students and graduates taking part from different Schools across the university, the collaboration and energy have been electric in the first few weeks. Final year Illustration and Animation BA student Agnieszka Albinowska told us, “The Summer Startup programme has been a great way for me to continue building my business after winning the People’s Choice award in the Big Idea Challenge 2025.”
Agnieszka continues, “The London Met Enterprise team have all been amazingly encouraging, and the sessions so far have been really fun. I’ve learnt loads already and it’s only week 3! I’m so grateful for all their support and feedback as I get closer to launching my board game Sensorial Love.”
Alongside their ongoing support, the Enterprise team have also arranged for six London Met alumni, who have all launched their own businesses or gone freelance, to offer mentoring to members of this summer’s Summer Startup cohort.
The programme will conclude on 13 August with a final pitch day, where our students and graduates who have taken part will have the opportunity to showcase their businesses, share the progress they’ve made during the programme, and outline their plans for the future.
From food and fashion to tech and creative services, the ideas being developed are as exciting and diverse as the students and graduates behind them. Whether they’re aiming to launch a side hustle or go all-in on their new business venture, Summer Startup is giving them the support, space, and spark to make it happen.
