6 - 7 June 2025
Now in its 13th year, FICTA 2025 marked a major milestone for the international conference series – doubling in scale and welcoming over 400 participants across two dynamic days of research, innovation, and collaboration.
Hosted by Professor Preeti Patel and the AI and Data Science Research Group at London Metropolitan University’s School of Computing and Digital Media, the event brought together a diverse, global community of researchers, students, and industry leaders focused on intelligent computing technologies and their real-world impact.
With five parallel tracks, over 200 peer-reviewed papers, and strong engagement in both in-person and virtual sessions, the conference demonstrated growing momentum and relevance in the field.
This year also saw the University of Greenwich join as a technical partner, further expanding the conference’s academic reach and collaborative potential.
Keynotes at a Glance
FICTA 2025 featured three thought-provoking keynote presentations:
- Ghislaine Boddington (University of Greenwich) explored digital identity and embodiment in "Digital Human Twins – our future data selves."
- Prof. Gianluca Tozzi (University of Greenwich) discussed AI-driven biomedical engineering solutions.
- Dr Ibukunolu Oladunjoye (National Grid) examined the future of computing in the context of quantum, edge, and cloud technologies.
Empowering Students and Building Community
As in previous years, London Met students played an active role in the conference – contributing as authors, presenters, and event support – while benefiting from valuable networking with an international AI and data science community.
Coordinated by Dr Maitreyee Dey, FICTA 2025 further cemented its role as a leading platform for research at the intersection of intelligent computing and societal challenges - and as a hub for collaboration between academia and industry.
